Utah Backyard Ballistics Self-Healing Target Care Sheet

First, ... We (Owen and Josh – Owners) want to personally thank you for your purchase and for trusting us to fuel your ballistic entertainment needs. We pour out our blood, sweat and tears into our hand-crafted, custom-made shooting targets and ballistic heads... and we hope it brings you as much entertainment and education as it has for us. We truly hope and expect that you will have a great experience.

Having said that... to ensure you have the best possible experience, we are providing you with this care sheet to ensure all goes well. Please follow the instructions as follows

Ammunition and Repair – It is best if you only shoot your self-healing target with FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) ammunition. Other ammunition types such as hollow point or expanding ammunition will damage your target, reducing the life of your self-healing target. Having said that… we understand the needs for the shooting target to be versatile, we need to sight in our coyote or deer rifle… right! If you choose to shoot your self-healing target with other expanding ammunitions… we suggest that you limit it as much as possible. Also… know that you can use a white Silicone to patch and repair the small holes made from hollow points, etc and then paint right over it… and although it isn’t a perfect repair, it does the job and you will know where your new hits are!

Safety - Always follow all gun safety rules. Never point your firearm at something you don’t intend to destroy/Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction at all times. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire. Treat all firearms as if they are always loaded and ready to be fired. Be mindful of your backdrop and surroundings. Be safe!

Paint – Our suggestion regarding paint is to simply use a white primer only. We have had a lot of suggest with it… shots fired cause the primer to flake off nicely, and it covers fairly well. However, don’t hesitate to experiment… you can apply a highlight color such as yellow, then apply white primer over the top, and fired rounds will leave some of that yellow undercoat behind leaving somewhat of a splatter target effect.
